This Privacy Policy explains how Born Artemisia (ABN 27 120 206 711), an Australian company, collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Artemisia app ("the App"). We take your privacy seriously, especially because we handle health-related information that is classified as sensitive information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the following data is treated as sensitive information because it relates to your health:
Health data (symptoms, weight entries, kick sessions, contraction sessions, birth plan) is stored locally on your device. Kick sessions and contraction sessions also sync to your account on our servers so they survive a reinstall and are available for export. Symptom log, weight entries, and birth plan selections remain on your device only unless you explicitly export them.
We use your information to:
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. There are no tracking pixels in the App. We do not use third-party analytics platforms that receive health data. Anonymous feature usage counters (e.g. "paywall viewed") are stored in our own database with no user identifiers or health properties attached.
Because we collect sensitive health information, we obtain your explicit consent during onboarding before collecting any pregnancy-related data. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, our database hosting provider, in the Asia-Pacific region (Tokyo, Japan). Some third-party services (RevenueCat, Sentry) host data in the United States. See section 5 for details on each provider and their compliance standards.
For data stored on our servers, we use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies, and access controls to protect your information. Data stored on your device (see section 3) is protected by your device's own file-system sandbox and passcode rather than by app-level encryption; keeping your device locked is the primary protection for that data.
We share limited information with the following third parties, and only as necessary to operate the App:
Database hosting and authentication services. Stores your account and app data. Data is hosted in the Asia-Pacific region (Tokyo, Japan). Supabase Privacy Policy.

We use Expo's push notification service to deliver notifications to your device. Expo receives your device push token and notification content. Notification titles are generic (e.g. "Your weekly read is here") and do not contain health data. Expo Privacy Policy.
We use Resend to send account-related emails (e.g. partner invitations, support replies). Resend receives only the recipient email address and email content. Resend Privacy Policy.
Apple processes subscription purchases and provides push notification delivery through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Apple's handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policy. Apple Privacy Policy.

Slack receives only technical and aggregate events. No user health data, pregnancy data, or personally identifying profile information is sent to Slack. Slack Privacy Policy.
We do not use third-party advertising services, and no third party receives your health data.
The App uses only essential cookies and local storage necessary for authentication sessions. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies that share health data.
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion of your data, we will permanently delete your information from our servers within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.
